Meaka Monroe Unveils the remixes for Debut Single “Backwards Forwards”

Meaka Monroe, a new female artist from the UK, brings a unique and deeply
personal voice to the music scene. Her journey into recording music began
during intensive music psychotherapy sessions to address her developmental
childhood trauma. Through these sessions she discovered the power of musical
expression which created the foundation of her debut album.
Monroe’s style blends British Soul with elements of Alternative R&B, Alternative
Rock, and UK Reggae. Her seamless fusion of these genres, combined with her
nostalgic yet contemporary voice, creates a distinctive sound that is both
timeless and innovative.
“Backwards Forwards,” the debut single from “Algorhythm & Blues,” explores
the cyclical and often frustrating nature of relationships marred by infidelity.
With Ladbroke Grove style grooves and a lighthearted approach to a
heartbreaking subject, the song captures the essence of London’s vibrant
music scene. As Meaka explains, “If you’ve ever gone back to an Ex after they
cheated and almost instantly regretted it, don’t worry you’re not alone.”
REMIX EP
New artist Begly (formerly one half of Sister Bliss’ prodigies “I Said No”) comes
with his first release in over 10 years and also marks his very first solo outing.
He’s been a busy boy over the past decade, refining his skill for sound design
and music production into a very well crafted product. With many more
productions lined up for the near future, expect to hear a lot more from Begly in
the coming months.
The second remix takes Backwards Forwards and gives it a more laid back,
sunshine spin, soaking it in reggae vibes reminiscent of Sister Nancy with a
modern twist.
For one last added surprise, [sic] recordings uncovered the original acoustic
demo of Backwards Forwards, sung live by Meaka with her Guitarist, Isabell
Lysell, an incredibly talented guitarist who spent time under the mentorship of
Brian May whilst playing guitar in the all femalE band “The King’s Daughters”.
